The minister of endowments and religious affairs of the federal government of Somalia, Mukhtar Robow Abu Mansoor, today presented suggestions to end the existence of the Al-Shabaab group.
Minister Mukhtar Robow, who participated in the inauguration of the Tubsan center in charge of preventing and fighting extremist ideology, which was attended by the ambassadors of the international community in Somalia and government officials, said that there are 3 ways to end Al-Shabaab.
The minister, for the first time, supported the government’s current approach to Al-Shabaab, which is to end the war. He also said that there is another way that is needed, which is to have a dialogue with them and convince them to withdraw from this thinking, and that the scholars debate with Al-Shabaab.
“When the president said, these men are fighting, the direct war, the economic war, and the ideological war, the government has done a great job. A conference of Somali scholars was held. They have issued a verdict, and that is being followed,” said Robow.
Minister Robow called on the government to stand by the Somali scholars whenever it is fighting al-Shabaab. He also welcomed the establishment of a center to combat extremist ideas.
