The Somali police have given details of the damage caused by a suicide bombing last night carried out by a person who planted explosives, who blew himself up at the Blue Sky Restaurant located in Hawa Taako neighborhood in Bondhere district of Mogadishu.

A press release from the Somali Police said that the suicide bombing killed only one person, the director of the Mogadishu office of Somali Cable Television, Abdifitaha Macalin Nur Qays, while four others were injured.

“Tonight 16/Oct/2023, around 21:00 PM in the evening, a suicide bomber who belonged to the Khawarij blew himself up by people who were drinking tea outside the Blue Sky Restaurant in Bondhere District, especially around the statue of Hawa-Taako in Mogadishu. The damage caused by the explosion is the injury of 4 people and the death of journalist Abdifitah Macalin Noor (Qeys), the director of Somali Cable TV in Mogadishu,” said the statement from the Somali Police.
