The Somali government has condemned an attack that took place yesterday in the city of Ankara, Turkey, which targeted a building where government forces were stationed.
“The government of the Federal Republic of Somalia strongly condemns the cowardly attack that took place in Ankara-Turkey, and we send our condolences to the victims and their families,” said the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia.
The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to support Turkey in the fight against terrorism, calling for joint international efforts to fight terrorism.
“The Federal Republic of Somalia stands with Turkey against terrorism, and we reaffirm our position against all forms of violence and terrorism, and we call for unity and the need for a real joint effort from the entire international community to fight against terrorism. ” was said in the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia.
The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, also condemned the attack in Turkey, saying it was a cowardly attack that targeted innocent people.
