The Federal Government of Somalia today received a modern vehicle and equipment from the United Kingdom designed to counter explosives.
The British Ambassador to Somalia handed over the vehicles and equipment to the Somali National Army’s Artisan Organization.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, the Commander of the Somali National Army, Lieutenant General Odowaa Yusuf Raage, and other officials.
The Minister of Defense of Somalia, Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, said that this modern equipment and vehicle will contribute to the development of the capabilities and skills of the Somali National Army.
Minister Fiqi also stressed that this equipment received by the Somali government will greatly increase the safety and efficiency of operations to combat so-called terrorist groups, and he thanked the United Kingdom for its strategic support to Somalia.
Finally, the British government is one of the governments in Somalia that greatly supports various aspects of security and the development of state-building.
