The town of Ba’dweyne in Mudug region was captured by government forces from Al-Shabaab.

Reports from Mudug regions are reporting that the Galmudug Dervish forces, the national and local forces entered the area this morning and took control of most of Badaweyne town in the south of Mudug region.

The news adds that the forces launched a large-scale attack this morning where Al-Shabaab was stationed, as confirmed by security officials of the Somali government.

Al-Shabaab fighters who were in control of the city have left Badaweyne and the army is conducting security operations in the city.

Although the loss has not been officially announced, there are casualties and injuries from the warring parties.

In the past few days, the government forces and the Dervishes of Galmudug have been conducting operations to ensure that Al-Shabaab remains in the Mudug region.
