The African Union ATMIS Command strongly condemned the shelling attack on the Halane camp in Mogadishu yesterday morning.
A press release from ATMIS said, “This barbaric attack will not deter us and the Somali security forces from seeking lasting peace and security in Somalia. We confirm our commitment to fighting terrorism and building a peaceful and prosperous Somalia.” ah”.
ATMIS sent its condolences to the families, friends, and relatives of those who died in the attack.
After the incident, ATMIS officials visited the affected areas to assess the damage.
Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, saying they killed ATMIS soldiers.
