A decree from the Office of the Commander of the Somali Correctional Service, General Mahad Abdirahman Adan, temporarily suspended the commander of the Central Prison, Brigadier Sergeant Dahir Abdulle Rage, after the deadly attack that took place a day ago in the Central Prison in Hamar.
The circular has also been appointed as the acting commander of Hamar Central Prison, General Mohamed Hussein Ahmed, during the ongoing investigation related to the attack on the prison that took place on Saturday.
The commander of the Somali Correctional Service has also appointed a committee to investigate the work that took place a day ago in the central prison of Hamar, which raised doubts about how the prisoners who fought got the weapons they used to fight.
In that attack, it has been confirmed that 5 members of the prison inmates who were formerly members of Al-Shabaab, who are sentenced to death by shooting, were all shot dead, while the guards of the prison were killed by three soldiers.
