The Federal Government of Somalia has deployed additional forces to the outskirts of Mogadishu to ensure security in the capital.
These forces, who are specially trained soldiers, have been said to be monitoring the general movement of those entering Mogadishu to prevent attacks by the Al-Shabaab group.
In the past few hours, these heavily armed forces in various combat vehicles have been seen in the capital, conducting security operations.
“The operation, which is part of efforts to ensure the security of the capital, targeted key areas suspected of security activities,” a statement from the federal government said.
This step by the government to deploy the Haramcad force comes after these forces previously conducted fruitful operations in Mogadishu districts to stabilize most districts in the Benadir region.
