The Federal Government of Somalia has warmly welcomed the official statement issued by the Republic of Egypt, which reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with the Somali people, and its continued support for Somalia’s efforts towards stability, peace, and development.
An official statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia described Egypt’s position as “a true reflection of the historical, deep, and brotherly relations between the two governments and peoples.”
The ministry stressed that Egypt’s continued support plays a significant role in securing Somalia’s sovereignty, strengthening regional peace, combating terrorism, building state institutions, and Egypt’s international role.
The statement also specifically noted Egypt’s important role in garnering regional and international support for Somalia’s affairs. Commending Egypt’s efforts to strengthen internal security and support law enforcement,
The Somali government particularly commended Egypt’s role in the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), describing this support as crucial and key to a peaceful, stable, and prosperous future for Somalia.
