The Minister of Petroleum and Minerals of the Federal Government of Somalia, Dahir Shire Mohamed, and a delegation he led attended the International Geoscience and Energy Conference in Houston, USA.
During the international conference, the Minister held important meetings with senior officials and heads of US energy and oil companies, and discussed ways to enhance cooperation and investment in Somalia’s natural resources.
“It is an honor for me to lead the Somali Government delegation participating in the International Geoscience and Energy Conference taking place this year in Houston, USA, to share with all businessmen around the world the opportunities in the oil and gas sector in our country, Somalia,” said the Minister of Petroleum of Somalia, Dahir Shire Mohamed.
The Minister also indicated that the special meetings he held with officials and companies focused on the vast opportunities in investing in Somalia’s petroleum and energy sector, and that the parties he met recognized the importance of obtaining additional cooperation and technical support to ensure sustainable development.
“We have discussed with all the friends we have met that our country is open to investment, and we are committed to transparency in order to attract investors, which can create great opportunities for all Somali people,” said Somali Minister of Petroleum and Minerals Daahir Shire Mohamed.
Finally, the Somali Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals has once again demonstrated its commitment to transparency, accountability, and promoting sound investment to grow the country’s economy and develop the Somali society.
