The president of the Jubbaland administration, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, Ahmed Madobe spoke for the first time in depth about what caused the conflict between the federal government of Somalia and where it started.
Ahmed Madobe said that the reasons for his departure from the National Consultative Council meeting was that he was looking after the interests of the Darood community and that he was the only one present at the meeting.
“The government of Somalia today has become a company that operates according to the logic that existed in 1991, and what is missing is the power of the Prime Minister of the country, who has nothing in his hands and does not ask anyone for anything.
Ahmed Madobe also accused the federal government of Somalia of crossing the boundaries of the law and the constitution that was elected, and destroyed everything that Somalis agreed on.
While speaking about the Raskambooni war, he said that he warned the government many times about how it was acting, but later the things he warned the federal government happened.
“The war was dominated by us, everything was planned for us as it happened, we ordered our army to reduce the losses and you saw the war and the losses were not the same, although there were deaths on both sides,” said President Ahmed Madobe.
He pointed out that everything that happened was more painful than the fact that the Somali army of more than a thousand soldiers who crossed the border, raised their hands and surrendered to Kenya.
President Ahmed Madobe said that the federal government has failed in the war against Al-Shabaab, citing the example of Al-Shabaab attacks in Hiran and Middle Shabelle and he noted that the Somali forces do not have the will to fight.
The statement by the president of Jubbaland administration comes as no solution has yet been reached to the conflict between the government and Jubbaland which resulted in the bloodshed between the two sides in the town of Raskambooni at the end of last year.
