The commander of Heliwaa Abdifitax Kosalaye was sentenced to death by shooting by the Armed Forces Court.

The Court of First Instance of the armed forces today sentenced the commander of Heliwa Police Station in Mogadishu, Abdifatah Mohamed Hassan Qoslaye and Mohamed Abdi Mohamed Qoone, who was an assistant to Commander Qoslaye, to death by shooting.

Commander Qoslaye and his assistant soldier were found by the court to be behind the kidnapping and murder of Abukar Ahmed Kabah, who was killed on February 24, 2024.

The armed forces court also stripped Commander Abdifitah Qoslaye and Dable Mohamed Abdi Qone of their military ranks and removed them from the Somali Police Force.

The military court has also sentenced Liban Mohamed Omar to 15 years in military prison.

The court also sentenced Mohamed Adawe Ali and Yasin Abdi Jama, who were part of the conspiracy to kill Abukar Kabah, to 10 years in military prison, while Hassan Mohamed Saeed Dhindin was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

In the end, the military court said that there was no crime against Mohamed Hassan Osman, and the court also said that this verdict is open for appeal within 30 days.
