Puntland’s security forces in the Bari region, together with other officials, today asked about the security of Bosaso city, which has recently seen an increase in the number of explosions attacking business centers.
In a meeting today, the officials said that a large-scale operation is being carried out to end what they called the terrorist groups that are carrying out acts of insecurity in Bosaso.
The commander of the Bari regional police division, Abdiqadir Jama Dirir, said that the security agencies will give more effort to deal with the targeting groups in Boosaso town centers, and he said that there is a need for the public to report the information to the security agencies.
However, no one has been arrested so far for those responsible for the loss of life and property in the commercial centers that were burnt in Bosaso town.
Businessmen in Bosaso are facing great fear of extortion money that the security agencies said that Al-Shabaab and Daesh want to take from Bosaso businessmen.
President Deni, who was recently re-elected, is expected to soon make changes in the security forces of the Eastern region.
Saeed Deni has recently appointed the commander of the counter-terrorism force in the Galis mountain area, where the Puntland Dervish army has its bases.
