The Senate of Somaliland has approved the constitution of the presidential elections which was before the assembly in the last weeks.

The Somaliland Senate has unanimously passed the electoral law that they have been in control of for the last seven years, making some changes and additions in some areas of the code.

Somaliland’s opposition parties have been strongly interested in the implementation of this law, which is important for the presidential and party elections to take place.

“There is no evidence today that it is clear that the country has taken the path of parallel elections, therefore, all the people living in the Republic of Somaliland should prepare for the early elections on November 13, 2024,” the presidential candidate of the Nationalist Party, Abdirahman Irro, welcomed the approval.

It is hoped that the elections for the organizations and the presidency that have been delayed will be held in Somaliland at the end of this year 2024.
