The Somaliland government has once again said that the Sool region is Somaliland’s territory, and that a conflict has been raised against it.
The Minister of Technology and Communication Abdiwali Abdillahi Sheikh Sufi, who gave an interview to SAHAN TV, said that parts of Somalia were attacked in the Sool region.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release and clarified the government’s position that Sool is a Somaliland territory… what is going on in Sool is not a civil complaint but a war and an invasion that has been brought to Somaliland,” said Sufi.
Sufi said that the recent trips of leader Firdhiye are proof that Somaliland has been invaded, referring to his recent trips to Mogadishu.
He spoke about the talks between Somaliland and Somalia, saying that Somaliland can only talk to the government of Somalia in an inclusive international forum.
The conflict in the city of Lasaanood is not over yet, as the Somaliland government has said that it is not possible to separate Lasaanood from Somaliland.
