More reports are coming out of an attack that started with explosions that the Al-Shabaab group carried out in the early morning of the government army base in Awdheegle district in the Lower Shabelle region.
The attack was said to have started with a vehicle filled with explosives, and then a direct fight between the government forces and Al-Shabaab followed.
It was reported that the fight was intense and both sides used different types of weapons, and sometimes the sound of strong explosions was heard.
Eyewitnesses told the local media that the war caused casualties, but they could not confirm the total official loss.
Officials of the Federal Government of Somalia said that they defended themselves against the attack from the Al-Shabaab organization, and that they caused a lot of damage to the members who attacked them.
This attack is part of this type of attacks that the Al-Shabaab group sometimes attacks the bases of the government forces and those of ATMIS in different regions of the country, while the operations against the Al-Shabaab are going on strongly in the regions of Galgaduud, Hiraan and Middle Tigers.
