The Embassy of Somalia in Kenya has spoken about the judgment handed down by a court in Nairobi, Kenya, in relation to the lawsuit filed by the construction company Kingsley Construction Limited, which complained that it was withdrawn from the contract for the renovation of the building of the Embassy of Somalia. in Kenya.

The court ordered the Somali government to pay 23 million Kenyan shillings to Kingsley Construction Limited.

The decision of the Court was challenged by the Consul of the Somali Embassy in Kenya, Habib Mohamed Igaal, who spoke to the media and said that the court did not process the charges against the embassy and the court’s decision was seen by the media, and that there was no verbal or written agreement. which the Somali Embassy entered into with the plaintiff company.

The Consul’s statement comes as the company is said to have sued the Somali Embassy in Kenya in 2019, arguing that the embassy breached the agreement and refused the company’s employees to start the project and to pay the remaining amount of Sh23.4 million in Kenyan currency.

However, the building of the Somali Embassy in Kenya was closed in 2020, when the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Ahmed Isse Awad, opened the building after repairs were made to the building of the Embassy.
