The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today held a meeting with his counterpart, Ismail Omar Guelle, at the President’s House in Djibouti.

The meeting between the two presidents was focused on strengthening peace, security in the region, strengthening diplomatic relations, cooperation between the two countries, and protecting the sovereignty of the countries in the region.

“They jointly welcomed the establishment of the new mission to support the stability of Somalia of the African Union (AUSSOM), which will replace the old mission ATMIS” was said in a news release from the Somali Presidency.

President Hassan Sheikh thanked the government and the people of Djibouti for their continued brotherly support in the security, government building and development of Somalia.
