The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today held a meeting with his counterpart, Ismail Omar Guelle, at the President’s House in Djibouti.

“They jointly welcomed the establishment of the new mission to support the stability of Somalia of the African Union (AUSSOM), which will replace the old mission ATMIS” was said in a news release from the Somali Presidency.
President Hassan Sheikh thanked the government and the people of Djibouti for their continued brotherly support in the security, government building and development of Somalia.
The President of the Djibouti government, Ismail Omar Guelle, has promised to redouble its support for peace, government building and the defense of the Somali nation, and expressed hope that the new mission of the African Union will be the last to end the threat of terrorism in the region. .
