Warplanes strike Somali militant camps: residents

Fighter jets were reported to have hit an Islamist militant stronghold town in southern war- ravaged Somalia on Saturday, local residents said.

Residents said, the warplanes strike several missiles in the heart of Bardhere town in Gedo region, where is under the control of the Islamic militant group of Al-shabab,with some reports it was targeted a feeding centre for the famine hit Somali children owned by red crescent society.

Another missile was also reported to have hit by the unidentified fighter jets an educational centre in the same town,but no casualties were reported so far.

‘I heard sounds of the warplanes and then bombs. I understood minutes later that they were missiles targeting in our home town Bardhere. The jets strike two civilian areas a feeding centre and a school. I don’t know the casualties as a result of the bombardment,’ said, a local resident,

This is a part of serial air raids carrying out by unknown warplanes targeting in parts of Gedo region, which borders to Kenya.Nairobi which has sent troops into Somalia almost two months ago, vowing to wipe out the al Shabaab rebel group did not claimed the responsibility of these aerial attacks in Gedo region.
