South African police officers have closed down 15 shops owned by Somali business people in Yanga, Filimbi and Stlambush locations in Capetown city following a directive from the local government. The South African local government claimed that the closed shops were not registered with their authorities and were found illegally trading in the said areas. Sheikh Abdirashid Afi who is one of the Somali businesspeople in South Africa said that they have spoken to the local government authorities over the issue where he urged his fellow county men to register their businesses before they start operating. Most of the Somali businesspeople in South Africa do not register their businesses, which causes the closure of their merchandise. Contrinuted By:A.M.
