The president of the federal government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, called the presidents of the five regional governments and the administration of the Banadir region to attend the meeting of the consultative council.
The president said that the conference which will take place on April 20 and 21 will discuss the fight against terrorism and the completion of the country’s constitution.
The conference is coming up, as news is coming out that the regional governments are expected to issue a statement showing their position on the constitutional change.
The presidents of the states, including the president of Puntland, we have received reports that they spoke on the phone and exchanged information on the political issues of the country.
Sources say that the regional governments will express their disapproval of the process of amending the constitution, which may put pressure on the federal government.
