The Secretary General of the United Nations has announced the appointment of Raisedon Zenenga from Zimbabwe as his new Deputy Special Envoy to the United Nations Office in Somalia.<\/p>\n

According to a statement issued by the United Nations, Zenenga will replace Ghanaian Anita Kiki Gbeho, who was thanked by the Secretary General for her work in Somalia.<\/p>\n

The Deputy UN Special Envoy for Somalia is currently the UN Assistant Secretary-General and Coordinator of the UN Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) since 2020.<\/p>\n

He previously held the positions of Deputy Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Somalia and Deputy Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).<\/p>\n

Mr. Zenenga has experience in mediation, managing peace operations, and working with governments and other stakeholders in conflict zones.<\/p>\n
