The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today held a meeting with his counterpart, the President of the country, Abdelfatah Al Sisi, at the presidential palace in Egypt.<\/p>\n

The meeting, which was organized at a high level, the two presidents discussed issues related to security and the Arab strategy in the Red Sea, the situation in the region, the fight against the Al-Shabaab group and the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries. and the people of the brothers.<\/p>\n

After the meeting, the two presidents of Somalia and Egypt jointly held a press conference where they presented the fruits of their discussions and their views on the situation in the region.<\/p>\n

“Egyptian government and people, we are long-standing allies and brothers who always work together to create a bright future and sustainable development. The fruitful talks we had today show how we want to strengthen diplomatic, security and political relations,” said a statement from the Somali presidency.<\/p>\n

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said that the government of Somalia is committed to cooperating with allies, partners and friends in the world to prevent any challenge against the independence and unity of Somalia.<\/p>\n

“President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud thanked the Egyptian government for the fraternal position they have taken against the Addis-Ababa government’s ambitions in relation to the Somali Sea. He presented the economic and strategic importance of the Red Sea, and he said that Somalia has a great share in this sea. which is not accepted by the government and the people of Somalia that another country is encroaching on one of its territories,” said a statement issued by the Somali presidency.<\/p>\n

The President of Egypt, Abdelfatah Al Sisi, for his part, pointed out the security, cultural, economic and political effects of the Ethiopian government’s violation of the unity and territorial independence of Somalia.<\/p>\n

President Sisi also mentioned that he will not pay attention to the violation of Ethiopia, as Somalia and Egypt are two countries with a common law, united in the Arab and African countries.<\/p>\n

“The law of the Arab League stipulates that we must jointly defend the Arab country that is facing an existential threat, so the Egyptian government does not accept to interfere and violate the unity and security of Somalia. The power of Egypt should not be tested and threatened by its brothers, especially the brotherly countries that ask us to stand by them,” said a statement published by Villa Somalia.<\/p>\n
