Ministers and MPs of both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia from Awdal region today met in Mogadishu and strongly opposed the desire of the Ethiopian government to get part of Somalia’s water.<\/p>\n

The Minister and the MPs first praised the people of the Northern regions, especially the people of Awdal who opposed the Somaliland agreement with the Ethiopian government.<\/p>\n

“There is no one who can take part of Somalia’s land, but I want the people of the northern regions not to accept the greed of the Ethiopian government that wants to take part of Somali land,” said Minister Hagaa who spoke to the media after the meeting.<\/p>\n

The Minister and MPs have called on all the Somali people, especially those living in the Northern regions, to unite for the defense of their land and sea, which no one can do alone.<\/p>\n

This meeting coincides with the beginning of this month in the city of Addis Ababa, the president of Somaliland and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia reached an agreement, which is related to Ethiopia getting sea from Somalia, while Somaliland will recognize Ethiopia as an independent state.<\/p>\n
