The government of Somaliland has said that Somalia cannot block Somaliland and Ethiopia, while there is nothing to block Somalia from Somaliland.<\/p>\n
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somaliland Dr. Isse Kayd Mohamud, who gave an interview to the BBC Somali Radio, said that Somaliland is free to enter into an agreement with any country it wants.<\/p>\n
“Countries that do not have relations with Somalia do not have anything to do with it. We returned to our independence in 1991, so there is really nothing to do with Somalia. We are free to have relations with the rest of the world,” said Minister Kayd.<\/p>\n
The minister said that the message of the military has changed from Ethiopia to the needs brought by Somaliland for 30 years, which is recognition, and financial, military, academic, medical and medical evidence.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, the Ethiopian government has officially said that it recognizes Somaliland for the first time, and that Somaliland has a stake in the Ethiopian Airlines, or the telephone companies.<\/p>\n
