The forces of Somalia, especially the Eagle commandos, today recaptured El Deer district in Galgaduud region.<\/p>\n

The government forces have taken control of El Deer district and the surrounding areas, after the Al-Shabaab members who were there fled.<\/p>\n

The commander of the 17th battalion of the Eagle commandos, Major Sahid Jama Farah, who led the operation, confirmed that the forces have cleared Al-Shabaab from all areas in the east of Galgaduud region under the Eeldheer district.<\/p>\n

The commander also said that the troops are currently carrying out a search for mines on the roads leading to and exiting the district of Eeldheer in Galgaduud region.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the year 2023, the government forces captured the district of Eeldheer, but Al-Shabaab took it back when the government forces withdrew from that district.<\/p>\n

In the past few days, the government forces with the help of local people have taken over important areas from Mudug and Galgaduud regions of Galmudug administration.<\/p>\n
