Puntland’s Minister of Information, Mohamud Ayid Dirir, said that the decision announced by the Puntland parliament yesterday, which extended for a year, is not sustainable.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Information said that the decision is illegal and it is shocking that the public will hear it, and he said that the parliament does not have the power to check the government.<\/p>\n

The minister pointed out that the president has already rejected the decision made by the SSC-Khatumo cultural group, saying that the traditional elders do not have the power to make political decisions.<\/p>\n

“Isimama and the politicians who were there said, “President, we want you to give us immunity or give us a collar. The president said it according to the law, and he said that the government, while giving up its immunity, does not say and cannot say that it rules over the people. And there is a constitutional system for complaints. If you advise from Masali, and bring good things, we will see you,” said the minister, quoting the president’s statement.<\/p>\n

Finally, Minister Aydeed said that the President’s decree or Court decision will completely dissolve the current Parliament and the selection of new MPs will begin.<\/p>\n
