In the past 24 hours, the autumn rains have fallen heavily in many areas of Gedo and Bay regions, increasing the impact of the rains.<\/p>\n

Overflowing rivers and rising water are a common sight, resulting in hundreds of families being displaced from their homes and others still trapped in the affected areas.<\/p>\n

The governor of Bardhere district, Mohamed Wali Yusuf Korah said that many problems have arisen from the continuous autumn rains, which have not only affected Gedo region, but also affected the neighboring regions.<\/p>\n

The incessant rains have caused flash floods, which have caused a large loss of life and property, causing the displacement of many families.<\/p>\n

He urgently called on the government and administration of Jubaland to provide immediate assistance to the affected families.<\/p>\n

“All neighborhoods in the Bardhere district were affected by the flooding of the Shabelle River, as a result of which many people were displaced from the Gedo region. Immediate help is our request,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, in the city of Baidoa there was a heavy flood that caused loss of life and injuries, while many neighborhoods became inaccessible and caused the displacement of local residents.<\/p>\n

Senator Adam Nasir, who represents the South West State Government in the Upper House, called on the Federal Government and International Organizations to provide immediate assistance to the people in distress.<\/p>\n

The flood that came from the source of Baidoa entered the neighborhoods of Baidoa and destroyed many houses where people lived, and today there is a strong displacement in some neighborhoods according to the administration.<\/p>\n

The road that connects the cities of Mogadishu and Baidoa has been cut off in an area called Jamee near Bur-Hakaba, and the public vehicles traveling between the two cities have been stranded there.<\/p>\n

The Southwest Emergency Committee, which issued a report on the rains, called on people to be careful in dangerous areas. They called on people to stay in their homes while the floods continue.<\/p>\n
