The Federal Government of Somalia and the local people in cooperation have carried out operations in areas under the town of Amara in the Mudug region.<\/p>\n

The operations were said to be aimed at ensuring the security of the city of Amara and the surrounding areas, according to the media, government officials said.<\/p>\n

The officials also said that the forces are now preparing to take over the city of Aad and the surrounding areas which are still under the control of the Al-Shabaab group.<\/p>\n

In the areas of Mudug region of Galmudug administration, the operation against the Al-Shabaab group has been going on rapidly in the past months.<\/p>\n

However, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has been leading the war against Al-Shabaab in the city of Dhusamareb in the Galmudug capital for two months.<\/p>\n
