The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is in the town of Mahaas in the Hiran region, has revealed that some officers of the Somali Armed Forces have been arrested and accused of being behind the withdrawal of the government forces from the early stages of the war.<\/p>\n

President Hassan Sheikh said this yesterday when he was giving a speech to the troops prepared for the war against Al-Shabaab in a camp in Mahaas district, praising the troops for their achievements in the latest operations.<\/p>\n

“We will not join forces. The people who do not vacate the enemy’s areas will not be the same as the one who came out in front of the enemy and put his gun on his shoulder and went to Hamar or put the gun in his waist,” said President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.<\/p>\n

He also mentioned to the president that legal action will be taken against the officers accused of taking the army out of the war, although the president did not say the number of officers arrested.<\/p>\n

“Today I am talking to you and yesterday officers have been arrested, and they will be brought before the law for the crime they have committed, they will be arrested, the military court will arrest them and the innocent will be released,” said President Hassan Sheikh.<\/p>\n

The President of the Federal Government also said that the number of soldiers who die in wars is more than those who die from diseases at home, and it is necessary that the army should not be intimidated by this issue.<\/p>\n

“The number of people who die in the war is more than the number of people who die from diseases in their homes, so it is not right for people to be afraid,” said President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.<\/p>\n
