The commander of the Somali army, General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhiyedin, said that the Somali government has defeated Al-Shabaab after capturing the historical district of Elbur.<\/p>\n

The commander of the country’s armed forces, who gave an interview to the VOA Somali branch, said that they have taken over the town of Eelbur peacefully, and pointed out that the Al-Shabaab are not capable of confronting the Somali forces.<\/p>\n

The commander said in El Buur that it was the places where Al-Shabaab used to organize the biggest problems they used to cause in the country.<\/p>\n

“Aelbur that is out of their hands is a defeat they have not seen yet. And it’s a failure to begin with. The rest will fail in the same way,’ said General Ibrahim Sheikh.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the force commander denied that Ruun Nirgood district was recaptured by al-Shabaab. He said that a group of people who were in isolation came once, and he said that there was no place for them to escape.<\/p>\n

He said the operation will continue until it is confirmed that Al-Shabaab has been cleared from the country. He said the president is in the city of Dhusomareb to confirm the elimination of Al-Shabaab from Galmudug areas.<\/p>\n
