Members of the former Puntland parliament have accused the constitutional court of delaying the decision on a case they filed four months ago.<\/p>\n

These former MPs are complaining about the way they were removed from the parliament in 2020, and described it as an illegal action.<\/p>\n

Their claim is that the Constitutional Court should enter the case and oppose the process of removing them from the parliament.<\/p>\n

They said that the president of the court is under pressure from other parties, which prevents him from making a decision on their case.<\/p>\n

In December, 2020, the Puntland parliament revoked the immunity of these parliamentarians, which consisted of 8 members, after they were accused of creating violence in the parliament.<\/p>\n

The Puntland High Court upheld the parliament’s decision a few days later, and a few weeks later, they were replaced by other MPs selected by their tribes.<\/p>\n

Since that time, the former MPs have been arguing that the presidency and the parliamentary committee conspired to expel him from the parliament, saying that it was based on the fact that they were in opposition to President Deni.<\/p>\n
