The Commander of the Somali Defense Forces (CDF), Gen. Ibrahim Sheikh Muhyiddin met with senior officials of the United Nations Office in Somalia.<\/p>\n

This meeting focused on the security transition process in Somalia, especially the second phase of the reduction of ATMIS forces.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the head of the United Nations support office in Somalia, Akayira confirmed the commitment of UNSOS to provide logistical support to the armed forces of Somalia.<\/p>\n

The two officials also discussed how to improve coordination in the implementation of United Nations Resolution No. 2687 (2023), which states the duty to withdraw ATMIS troops.<\/p>\n

This meeting came as the Somali government is preparing to complete the second phase of the operation to liberate Galmudug and Hirshabeelle regions.<\/p>\n

The President of Somalia is in the city of Dhusomareb, where he is the command to guide the completion of the first phase of the operation and the beginning of the second phase.<\/p>\n

The government of Somalia needs logistical support from international friends, first and foremost the UN, so that the Somali forces are able to liberate Al-Shabaab from the areas they control.<\/p>\n
