Somalia and the United States agreed to strengthen their bilateral relationship on human rights and democracy issues.<\/p>\n

Hamse Warfaa, the senior adviser on democracy and human rights at the US Department of State, discussed this issue with Prime Minister Hamse, when the senior official visited Mogadishu.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, and MPs, Senators and various government officials welcomed the adviser in Mogadishu when he arrived there.<\/p>\n

“Today, I am pleased to receive in my office Hamse Warfa, senior adviser for democracy and human rights at the United States Department of State. We discussed the bilateral relationship between Somalia and the United States, which is based on the principles we share. of human rights and democracy,” said Hamza Abdi Barre, the Prime Minister of Somalia.<\/p>\n

Hamse Warfaa who spoke to the media said that his journey is based on his personal relationship with Somalia.<\/p>\n

“Today, I am very happy to return to my motherland, a place I left when I was 10 years old and have been away for more than 30 years. The purpose of my trip is to reconnect with this beautiful country that has been on my mind every night since I left. I look forward to working with people and leaders, as this will enhance my role both as an individual and as a representative of the United States,” said Hamse Warfaa, senior adviser to the United States.<\/p>\n

Hamse Warfaa was appointed to his current position as Senior Advisor for Democracy and Human Rights at the US State Department on January 10, 2022.<\/p>\n

Recently, the United States government described Somalia as the most frequent violation of human rights, especially the use of child soldiers and abuses by government forces and al-Shabaab.<\/p>\n
