A new challenge has been faced with the agreement that was the leader of the Chinese government that was brought closer to Iran and Saudi Arabia, after the two countries occupied an oil well in the Persian Gulf.<\/p>\n

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait jointly claimed an oil well on the shores of al-Durra, while Iran claimed that they have the right to the place where the well was found, which they named Arash.<\/p>\n

The two sides held talks on this issue in Tehran in March, but no results were reached.<\/p>\n

The spokesman of Iran’s foreign ministry, Nasser Kanaani, said that his country will not tolerate the violation of its rights, supporting a statement previously made by Iran’s oil minister.<\/p>\n

“We have already said that we are ready to discuss this matter with Kuwait,” the spokesman told the media, adding, “However, if there is no one interested in using the site [oil well], the Republic of Iran is starting exploration and exploitation of resources on its own”.<\/p>\n

Kuwait’s oil minister told Sky News Arabia last week that his country will start drilling and producing oil, without waiting for an agreement to be reached.<\/p>\n

Saudi Arabia has since sided with Kuwait, saying that both countries own the oil field, calling on Iran to return to the negotiating table.<\/p>\n
