Somaliland and SSC have accused each other of being responsible for the damage to medical facilities and workers in Lasaanood, after MSF announced that it had moved out of the city due to poor security.<\/p>\n

The accusations made by both sides came after the international organization MSF, which was supporting the Lasaanood hospital, said that it had moved out of the city after the safety of its workers was not guaranteed.<\/p>\n

In a report released by the Ministry of Defense, Somaliland said that the MSF staff were forced to move from Lasanood, after the hospitals became war centers and military camps used by the SSC forces.<\/p>\n

“The human rights abuses committed by the rebels are of great concern. They deliberately set up military bases in public facilities, such as hospitals, schools, government buildings, and other important places,” the report said.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Council of the SSC accused Somaliland of being the reason for the move of the organization “We condemn in the strongest language the massacre and bombing by Somaliland in Lasanood, which caused the displacement of the people of the city and especially the MSF workers, which led to that the organization should stop its operations in the area”.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Council of SSC-Khatumo said that they will work with the organization to bring its workers back to Lascaanod, and they promise the safety of the health workers.<\/p>\n

“The safety and security of patients, caregivers, and health workers is not guaranteed,” MSF said. MSF said that they can only operate where their workers are safe.<\/p>\n
