Members of the British Parliament have submitted a bill to the council that they want Somaliland to be recognized.<\/p>\n

MP Gavin Williamson, who is the leader of the MPs pushing for the recognition of Somaliland, urged the council to take the lead in bringing about the recognition of Somaliland.<\/p>\n

“If the government does not want to take action, let us take the lead. If the government is reluctant, let this house do it. Let’s reward those who do what is required, in a country that has met all the requirements of the government,” said Williamson.<\/p>\n

He said that the recognition of Somaliland will make it easier for the 5.7 million Somaliland people to have their voices heard and have a better life. He said that Somaliland stands for freedom and democracy.<\/p>\n

Williamson told the deputy chairman of the house that the parliamentarians including him, whose names he read in the assembly, will prepare the identity law, so that it can be brought before the assembly, and it is scheduled to be debated on the 24th of December this year.<\/p>\n

MP Williamson has been pushing for a while for the British Parliament to fully discuss the recognition of Somaliland.<\/p>\n
