Somalia has taken over the rotating chairmanship of the Office of the Superintendent of the African Union Mission to the United Nations.<\/p>\n

The Ambassador to Somalia at the United Nations, Amb. Abukar Baalle, who will hold this position, will deliver the observer speech at the UN headquarters.<\/p>\n

This office’s job is to work in general with the views and interests of the delegations of the African Union countries at the UN.<\/p>\n

The function of the Permanent Mission of the African Union to the United Nations is to coordinate diplomatic relations with the Permanent Mission of Africa to the United Nations.<\/p>\n

He also represents the African Union at the United Nations as well as developing and maintaining effective relations between the AU.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Baale will take over from Amb. Fatima Kyari Mohammed who was the Permanent Observer of the African Union to the United Nations.<\/p>\n
