The Federal Government of Somalia has very much welcomed the preliminary agreement signed by the parties of the country’s forces that were fighting,\u00a0 It is written like this:<\/p>\n

The Federal Republic of Somalia welcomes the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and
\nthe Rapid Support Forces (RSF) for signing a preliminary declaration on the
\nprotection of civilians in Sudan on May 11 in Jeddah, which will facilitate
\nhumanitarian work to meet the urgent needs of civilians, under the auspices of
\nthe friendly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation appreciates Saudi
\nand American efforts to bring the two parties to the conflict in Sudan to the
\nnegotiating table and achieve this significant and meaningful declaration, which
\nobligates them to protect the security and safety of civilians and to deliver
\nhumanitarian aid in accordance with international humanitarian law and human
\nrights law.<\/p>\n

The Ministry also hopes that the provisions of the Declaration and its
\nsubsequent arrangements will pave the way for defining a mechanism for a
\npermanent cessation of hostilities in order to reach a comprehensive agreement
\nthat meets the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people for security and
\npolitical and economic stability.<\/p>\n
