<\/p>\nThe Office of the Attorney General of the Somali Government has filed charges against 36 foreign defendants in the Banadir Regional Court.<\/p>\n
These foreigners are accused of illegal fishing, and the prosecutor’s office has asked the regional court to postpone their trial.<\/p>\n
A statement issued by the National Prosecutor’s Office said that these fishermen abused the country’s resources and were fishing illegally in the sea of \u200b\u200bSomalia.<\/p>\n
The prosecutor’s office said that action will be taken against these fishermen, to set an example for anyone who tries to trespass into Somali waters.<\/p>\n
The Somali navy arrested the fishermen last month, with more than 30 tons of fish, which they took out of the Somali sea without permission.<\/p>\n
The government of Somalia has taken over the fish, informing the community a few days ago that it will sell the fish, after the court ruled that it should be auctioned.<\/p>\n
