The Federal Government of Somalia has said that it is committed to finding a solution to the political conflict between the Puntland administration.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Somalia, Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, who gave an interview to The East African newspaper from Kenya expressed his confidence in a peaceful solution achieved through negotiations and cooperation.<\/p>\n

“Puntland is an important member of our Federal State Government (FMS) and always plays an important role in the country’s political process and the recovery of Somalia’s nationalism,” said Fiqi, who emphasized the importance of Puntland’s role in Somalia.<\/p>\n

The main points of conflict between the Federal Government and Puntland include the constitution and the completion of the federalization process in Somalia. Fiqi insisted that one of the most effective ways to deal with these issues is dialogue while also protecting the government’s priorities which is the completion of the Constitution and the federal model.<\/p>\n

A meeting held recently in Baidoa was tasked with the leaders of Galmudug, Hirshabelle and South West to resolve the conflict between the federal government and Puntland. Although the efforts have not yet officially started, they are expected to begin after the month of Ramadan.<\/p>\n

“Despite the differences in opinion, the federal government of Somalia is committed to talking with Puntland authorities, and we believe that cooperation and compromise are necessary to achieve our national goals,” he said. said Fiqi.<\/p>\n
