The Federal Government of Somalia\u2019s Cabinet held an extraordinary meeting to discuss the security situation in the country, the Israeli invasion of Somalia, and the recent elections in Mogadishu.<\/p>\n

The meeting, chaired by the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, was attended by a detailed briefing by the President on the general situation in the country.<\/p>\n

President Hassan Sheikh urged the Cabinet to address the situation in the country with unity, solidarity and consultation, and to serve the Somali people.<\/p>\n

The President specifically addressed the invasion of Somalia, stating that the government\u2019s diplomatic measures have achieved significant success.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the Cabinet approved agreements signed by Somalia with friendly countries, focusing on security cooperation and maritime transport, which the government said would strengthen its international relations and strategic capabilities.<\/p>\n

The council also passed new legislative and policy proposals covering various areas, such as evidence, public data protection, the establishment of a maritime institute, and support for people with disabilities, which are said to be part of the government’s efforts in the areas of security, social services, and institutional development.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Dahir Shire Mohamed, briefed the council on the country\u2019s oil production plans, while the Somali National Disaster Management Authority (SODMA) briefed the council on the drought situation, highlighting the challenges faced and the government\u2019s response to emergencies.<\/p>\n

The meeting came days after some cabinet members exchanged inflammatory remarks on social media, which reportedly angered senior officials of the Somali Federal Government.<\/p>\n
