The former director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Fahad Yasin Haji Dahir, has written a letter to Somali Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre, warning him of a political situation that he described as one that has reached a difficult decision-making stage.<\/p>\n

Fahad Yasin, who has been a frequent speaker on the country’s political affairs in recent times, reacted to a statement made by Prime Minister Hamse yesterday, in which he questioned why the country’s revolution did not have a proper end.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister, at the opening of the 2nd NIRA Conference, strongly criticized the country’s revolutionary system, although he later concluded that the little that the revolution of the central government in Somalia inherited from it is worth preserving for Somalis.<\/p>\n

“The revolution has stolen the minds of the Somali people, they have been harassing them for 21 years, they have been saying to stop the tribe and the khat, and they have been smoking it at night,” said Prime Minister Hamse.<\/p>\n

Fahad said the Prime Minister’s statement is worth reminding people of their responsibility to have “good habits.”<\/p>\n

In his article, Fahad Yasin said that Prime Minister Hamse has only three options open to him, and the first is to hold the hand of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and pave the way for a comprehensive national agreement.<\/p>\n

Fahad described this as the only path that can be seen as honorable if Prime Minister Hamse leads a solution to unite the conflicting political parties.<\/p>\n

The second point is that he should resign if he is unable to guarantee the country\u2019s safety. Speaking on this issue, he noted that an honorable resignation can protect the Prime Minister\u2019s name, as he has already become the longest-serving Prime Minister since the Arta era.<\/p>\n

Finally, Fahad warned Hamse that this last option means leading the country to a state of political collapse, which could ultimately lead to President Hassan Sheikh resigning as he has promised, even if he only has a short period left in office.<\/p>\n
