Former Somali President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, held a dinner and informational meeting with a number of members of both houses of the Federal Parliament last night, sharing his views on the general situation of the country and the responsibilities facing the nation\u2019s leaders.<\/p>\n

At the meeting held in Mogadishu, Farmaajo said that the country has entered a very difficult period, and that there are societies that are still suffering from problems that seem to be similar to the 1992 famine, known as \u201cCaga Barar\u201d.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that many people are in a very difficult living situation, which is getting worse day by day.<\/p>\n

The former Somali President thanked the members of parliament for their visit, stressing the importance of preserving statehood, the unity of the people and the solidarity of the society.<\/p>\n

He noted that all officials are obliged to uphold the constitution and agreed laws, which he described as the most important pillars of nationhood.<\/p>\n

Farmaajo also criticized the move by the Somali federal government to seize lands it claims belong to the government.<\/p>\n

He described the decision as inappropriate, calling on government leaders to stop issues that could create chaos and political misunderstanding.<\/p>\n

On the issue of elections, the former President noted that the current government has only six months left, and there is a need to urgently clarify the format and timing of the elections.<\/p>\n

He urged the relevant authorities to adhere to the deadlines, to avoid delays that could cause political uncertainty.<\/p>\n

Last night\u2019s meeting between Farmaajo and lawmakers from both houses is seen as coming at a time when there are intense political debates in the country regarding the transition period and the 2026 electoral process.<\/p>\n
