Ethiopia and Somalia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening peace and stability in the Horn of Africa, as the 11th Tana Summit of the High-Level Forum on African Security focused on the region\u2019s strategic role in the security and development of the continent.<\/p>\n

The first day of the summit, held in the northern Ethiopian city of Bahir Dar, discussed security and cooperation issues in the region, with leaders calling for accelerated collective action to strengthen peace and development.<\/p>\n

The summit was attended by scholars and high-ranking officials, and the Ethiopian Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador Hadera Abera, addressed the forum, saying that Ethiopia has played a significant role in maintaining security and peace in the region.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Hadera underlined that Ethiopia will continue to play its important role in promoting peace and cooperation with neighboring countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cEthiopia will continue to strengthen its important role in peace and stability in the Horn of Africa,\u201d Hadera said.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia, Ali Mohamed Omar, detailed Somalia’s efforts to rebuild state institutions and secure peace after years of conflict.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the IGAD Representative to the African Union, Maureen Achieng, highlighted IGAD’s growing role in facilitating dialogue, resolving conflicts and promoting unity among the countries of the Horn of Africa.<\/p>\n
