The Minister of State for Interior of the Federal Government of Somalia, MP Saadad Aliyow, has made it clear that there are no plans to establish a new administration called \u201cNew Jubaland\u201d in the Gedo region.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Arlaadi, the Minister said that the Ministry of Interior has no information on such an issue, and that there are discussions between the Federal Government and the Jubaland Administration regarding administrative matters and cooperation, but there is no visible progress currently in terms of establishing another administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe that Jubaland was established before, and I recognize President Ahmed Madobe as the former president of Jubaland,\u201d said the Minister of State, noting that there are efforts to bring Jubaland back to the table of the national consultation forum.<\/p>\n

Minister Saadad underlined that several attempts have been made to initiate formal talks to unify the positions of the government and the Jubaland administration, but these efforts have not yet borne fruit.<\/p>\n

This statement comes amid growing reports that a new “New Jubaland” administration is being established in parts of the Gedo region, which has sparked political debate and public sentiment.<\/p>\n
