The Federal Government of Somalia, specifically the Ministry of Communications and Technology, today officially launched a two-day National Consultation, which will focus on the preparation and implementation of the country\u2019s Digital Transformation Strategy for the years 2025 to 2030.<\/p>\n

The consultation, held in Mogadishu, was attended by representatives from government ministries, national institutions, telecommunications companies, and the country\u2019s technology community. The main objective is to exchange views on the promotion of digital services, innovation, and the construction of modern infrastructure that can lead the country to sustainable development.<\/p>\n

Mustafa Almahdi, Program Officer at the Arab Office of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), was among the officials who spoke at the opening. He noted that ITU fully supports Somalia and will play a prominent role in implementing the country\u2019s digital vision.<\/p>\n

He also stressed the importance of international cooperation for sustainable digital development.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Director General of the National Telecommunications Authority, Mustafa Yasin Sheikh, described the new strategy as one that will lead to digital development.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Communications and Technology, Mohamed Adan Macalin Ali (Somali), who also spoke at the opening, said that the strategy would be the overall guide that unites all technology and communications-related initiatives in the country. The Minister also noted that the Somali government has been focusing on policy coordination, investment in digital infrastructure, and human resource development to accelerate the development of social services and economic growth.<\/p>\n
