<\/p>\nThe Northeastern administration has strongly condemned what it says is a military buildup that threatens regional stability, which it accuses of being carried out by Somaliland.<\/p>\n
A press release from the Northeastern administration\u2019s Ministry of Security said the administration is closely monitoring military movements by Somaliland along the border, which are in preparation for an attack on the people of the Northeastern region.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis planned action poses a grave threat to the peace and stability we have worked hard to establish, and could affect the entire Horn of Africa region,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n
The Northeastern administration said Somaliland would be held accountable for any consequences of these actions, which it described as \u201caggression,\u201d adding that Somaliland would bear full responsibility for any harm that may result.<\/p>\n
The administration also called on the Federal Government of Somalia to fulfill its constitutional duty to protect the territorial integrity of the Somali Republic and defend its people. He also called on the United Nations, the African Union, IGAD, the Arab League and the international community to publicly condemn the military activities of Somaliland.<\/p>\n
The Northeastern administration said it was ready to defend itself against any attack from Somaliland but preferred a peaceful solution to end the conflict through mutual understanding.<\/p>\n
Somaliland, for its part, has not stated that it is conducting any military activities in the disputed areas, and has not yet responded to the accusations of the Northeastern administration.<\/p>\n
