The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today received at the National Presidential Palace in Villa Somalia the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese General Intelligence Service, Maj. Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim Ali Mufaddal.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, Maj. Gen. Mufaddal conveyed to the President an official message from the Chairman of the Transitional Revolutionary Council of Sudan, His Excellency Abdil Fatah Al-Burhan.<\/p>\n

The message expressed the Sudanese government\u2019s commitment to strengthening and expanding cooperation between Somalia and Sudan, especially in the areas of security, intelligence, economy and matters of common interest.<\/p>\n

The meeting was also attended by the Director General of the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Mahad Mohamed Salad.<\/p>\n

The two sides discussed in depth the importance of close cooperation between the intelligence agencies of the two countries, in order to address regional security challenges.<\/p>\n

The Somali President thanked Sudan for always standing by Somalia, and stressed the importance of finding genuine cooperation that serves peace and stability in the region.<\/p>\n
