The Northeastern Somali State (SSC) presidential and vice presidential election committee has informed candidates that the deadline for submitting applications is tomorrow.<\/p>\n

The committee said in a press release that any candidate who does not submit their application to the committee by 8:00 PM tomorrow will not be eligible to participate in the presidential and vice presidential election.<\/p>\n

The chairman of the election committee, MP Ahmed Kayse Ali Shire, said that they will hold a free, fair and transparent election. He called on the public to have confidence in the election process, which he said will end in a positive atmosphere.<\/p>\n

The chairman of the election committee called on members of parliament to prepare for the upcoming election, saying that they need to arrive early on election day.<\/p>\n

So far, 4 candidates are widely talked about as likely to participate in the presidential election in the administration, namely, the incumbent president, Abdikadir Ahmed Firdhiye, Jamaal Mohamed Hassan, Abdirisaq Ahmed Khalif and Mahmoud Yusuf Guray.<\/p>\n

President Firdhiye faces a strong political coalition that wants to oust him from power, although Firdhiye is believed to be dependent on the Federal Government and wants to emerge on his own.<\/p>\n
